FedEx

FedEx provides customers and businesses worldwide with a broad portfolio of transportation, e-commerce and business services. With annual revenues of US$31 billion, FedEx offers integrated business applications through operating companies competing collectively and managed collaboratively, under the respected company brands.

The Challenge

FdedEx is a very forward-thinking company. They were quick to embrace digital communications and created a site to manage digital document assets. As they started expanding their on-demand digital communications into other channels such as print, e-cards and HTML e-mails, they experienced some issues. They now had to manage content in multiple locations, and sales had to go to multiple places to access this content. Some sites were integrated with their contact database, and others were not. There was a need to integrate the process and centralize the applications.

The Solution

Vanick Group worked with FedEx to create a single site that would satisfy all of their on-demand digital communications needs. We evaluated all of the tools and simplified the process of communicating through the different channels into a single workflow. In order for Sales to send communications, they only need to identify a few things: what, who, and how. What communication do I want to send, to whom is it going, and how is it going to get there (E-mail, print, fax, etc.)?

Vanick Group engineered a flexible solution that would allow the system to integrate into existing directory services, customer master data, and corporate hierarchy data. We created a centralized asset repository that would allow for all assets to be stored, managed and indexed in a single store. With access to this data, users could quickly begin to use the system with the correct permissions to access appropriate customers and communications. We then created a single application workflow for sending communications, regardless of the distribution channel.

Benefit

There has been a significant increase in use of the site by Sales. They can now access all of their communications through a single site. All of 1,000+ pieces can be searched for in a single search. Salespersons have to remember one site and be trained on one process to send all communications.
